Parathyroidectomy: 54 M with unknown medical Hx or Rx asks: What side effects to know after parathyroidectomy? ? ANS: you have 4 paraT glands. So if only 1-3 is taken out may should have no side effects. But if all are taken out then expect severe low blood Ca which can cause numbness, tingling, cramps, irregular heart and even death.
