Thyroidectomy: I have a total thyroid surgery last Friday morning and now I have constant coughing ? ANS: complications of thyroidectomy are common in my experience. Laryngeal nerve injury or paralysis could cause cough. Taking out/injuring the parathyroids may cause low Ca which can also make you have muscle cramps and could contribute to cough. Let us know what you find out.
