A 19-year-old male asked:
If you eat, can you still breath through your nose without aspirating the food into your lungs? just curious.

Yep: You can still breath while chewing food. Your airway will shut briefly when you swallow to stop food from going down the wrong hole.

Breathing : Technically when you swallow you cannot breath. If you have cough or gagging while trying to swallow you may get some aspiration, but normally you will not when you are eating without problems swallowing.
