Not necessary: Your problem is gluten and with avoidance the damages will heal along with the malabsorption issue . Elemental diet is not palatable and thus you may end up eating less food than you should. Your major problem is gaining back the weight and thus eat whatever you desire as long as it does not contain gluten.
