Autopsy report: If the patient had a perforated bowel, I would be extremely surprised if the pathology report from the autopsy said 'normal'. To me that doesn't make any sense. Definitely if someone had a perforated bowel, there's a high chance they met the criteria for sepsis. Probably severe sepsis or even septic shock. There are strict definitions for that. Any Infectious Disease doctor should be able to help.
