A 30-year-old male asked:
I can't do things like cross arms, legs, comb hair, hold phone, push ups w/out some form of paresthesia. how is that anxiety? xanax doesn't stop it. i'm not panicking. i have popping in hand, shoulder blade that shoots pins and needles down arm.

Anxiety or medical?: A diagnosis of anxiety as a cause of physical symptoms can only be made when medical causes have been ruled out. Suggest you see your pcp for an evaluation of paresthesias. That said, anxiety can cause numerous physical symptoms even without conscious panicky thoughts because of the body's response to an adrenaline surge via the "fight or flight" reaction.
