Consult physician: Hi, the most important thing is for you to be under the care of physician during withdrawal. There are vitamins that may be helpful during this process. I am referring your question to one of the naturopathic physicians on Healthtap who can better respond. Take good care.

Vitamins, herbs and:: Congratulations on stopping. The first 1-2 days are the hardest. Alcohol withdrawal can be dangerous; one can even get seizures. I advise a good multivit., a B-complex that has the L-5-MTHF form of folate (folic acid). Niacineamide 500 mg 3x/day, Magnesium as taurate or glycinate. Kudzu and Holy Basil are useful herbs. The homeopathic medicine Nux Vomica 30c often helps a lot. See http://tinyurl.com/7xkbuk6

No: Oxycodone is an opiate. It has CNS depressant activity like alcohol, and is dangerous in combination with alcohol. However, it has no cross-tolerance with alcohol and will not help with withdrawal from alcohol. Withdrawing from alcohol can lead to delirium and seizures -- please see your physician and get help for this! if withdrawing & sweating, nauseous, jittery, etc, go to an er now.
