i've had a light, 1 inch, tender bruise on back of calf for about 2 wks. family dvt history, mild leg cramping. do i need to see doc?

Calf bruise: Hi Johnny152, if you have swelling in that leg then seeing your doctor is a good idea. DVT usually is provoked: being sedentary for long periods, recent surgery, long trips. Family history, Obesity, birth control pills, and smoking also play a role. DVT usually has lots of redness and swelling, and not bruising. It also depends on what caused the bruise. If perssitent, go see your doctor
