Had deep cleaning/scaling on one side. Now gums bleeding bad. Went through one box of gauze. Called dentist, just said to put pressure. How to stop?

Pressure: Your dentist is right, use a sterile gauze and place firm pressure for ten minutes. Spit out but do not rinse. Your gums are very inflamed so you will bleed a lot. Do not worry, unless you are on blood thinners it will stop.

You can also try a wet tea bag and place it by the bleeding sites. The tannic acid in the tea is a natural coagulant.

If neither of these common sense solutions are successful for you, ask your Dentist for referral to a Periodontist.
