Polyuria thirst: 39 F from US of unknown ethnicity or medical history or medication notes has problem with excessive urination & thirst & read about desmopressin that can help. My family says I am drinking something all the time. ANS: The first issue is to find out the cause for the problem. Then the treatment will be easy and could be desmo but not likely from what u has have told us. Tell your Dr. & ask 4 tests

Polyuria/ polyphagia: Hello and welcome to HealthTap, did you ever got further testing for your symptoms? Blood test &/or urine test. Do you have family h/o diabetes? Which other medical conditions do you have. To answer your question; Desmopression is only used in one of the causes for excessive thirst. There are many other causes, my main focus here would be diabetes. Have been ever been tested? Thank you!
