Could be fine: I would have my patients check again 4 or so days later and see how the rise is going. Sometimes i'll also check a Progesterone level to get more information.

1 week: You can do a pregnancy test 1 week from last intercourse. If negative then chances of being pregnant are pretty small.

See ob/gyn: A home pregnancy test turns positive usually one week after your missed menstrual cycle. You are currently not having a menstrual cycle because of anovulation. There are many causes for this and you should be seen by an ob/gyn.

No test is 100% : By hpt, i assume you mean home pregnancy test. Statistically speaking, there is no test that is 100% correct 100% of the time. We're just happy to get 90+% sensitivity (positive test when you have condition) & specificity (negative result when you don't) when used properly as directed. But you can get false positive if guy takes hpt but you'd know to ignore result. Be sure to use test at right tim.
