A 19-year-old female asked:

What are the chances of getting pregnant of sexual intercourse using a condom?

Depends: As long as the condom is applied before ANY intercourse and fits well, it has a good track record of preventing pregnancy. Some guys think any condom will do and buy some that may be too loose and allow sperm to escape,Some don't put it on until after some sexual fluids have been shared.Proper use=proper protection.

Birds & Bees: I am not sure if your question is a joke. But, on the chance you are serious, you need two things to get pregnant a fertile egg and fresh sperm. The sperm have to be deposited some how inside of the vagina on a day when the egg can be fertilized.

Condoms: If used 100% correctly and if no breakage or slippage condoms are close to 98% effective, meaning roughly 2 chances in 100 of failure. In actual use, condoms may fail as often as 10%, but it's because of incorrect usage. Good luck.

Are there any chances of getting pregnant even after using a condom?

Yes: No birth control is 100% effective. Condoms certianly have obvious failures, such as breaking or falling off, but even with "perfect use"'some women will get pregnant.
