keep getting pain in left leg from behind/side the knee down. no other feeling, just more like an ache. notice it when i sit down only.

May be a cyst: You may have a popliteal cyst. These aren't generally dangerous. They can be detected on US, if the discomfort is very painful, I'd go in and have a physician's exam.
