UTI is known: to cause many different strange things, from back pain to weakness in the legs to constant aching of the calves. I would not rule that out. If you check the urine at the doctor's office and it does not look infected, then make sure you are well hydrated and rested as well as recovered from any strenuous activity your calves could have been through recently.
