Agressive lymphoma: Burkitt's lymphoma is a very agressive b cell-non hodgkin's lymphoma. When you see it under microscope it gives you appearance of starry sky pattern.Usually presented with a rapid enlargement of lymph nodes and often times is associated with symptoms-like fevers, chils, night sweats, unintentional weight loss etc. It requires agressive chemotherapy. Viral Associated: The Burkitt lymphoma described by Dennis Burkitt in equatorial Africa occured in young kids with Epstein Barr virus infection as facial bulky masses. Sporadic Burkitt's elsewhere happen in all age group, not viral but oncogene related. Although highly fatal, once treated correctly, these respond exquisitely. Modern ancillary test like flow cytometry, Myc molecular histology could enhance Dx.
