sternal end of clavicle is grinding after acromioclavicular joint decompression. tender only when i move the arm certain ways?what could it be wrong?

Inflammation: It depends on how long ago your AC joint decompression was. If the surgery was recently, it may be irritated/inflamed from surgery (positioning?) or from certain rehab exercises or overcompensation to protect AC joint. If the surgery was several months/years ago, there could be a small cartilage injury or some arthritis in the SC joint. This joint can become lax and get excess motion too.
