Probably. . .: "The Gene" that everyone thinks of with Breast Cancer is the BRCA gene. If she doesn't have that gene, then you cannot inherit it from her. But unfortunately there are many genes linked with breast cancer now, and you may want to go with your mother to a genetic counselor to discuss her testing options.
