Endocrinologist: Cancer starting in the adrenal gland (Adrenocortical carcinoma) is very rare. Because it usually presents as with signs of corticosteroid excess(Cushing's Syndrome) and/or signs of virilization it is usually diagnosed by an Endocrinologist. CT, MRI or PET scans can usually show the cancer and differentiate it from a benign adenoma of the adrenal gland.
