i'm well overweight. ~100 lbs.+. it's hard to workout with pain. dieting either doesn't work well or much. doc says no to surgery. why? tired of fat

Bariatric surgery: To qualify for bariatric (weight loss) surgery, you have to "pass" many requirements before the surgeon will take you. You have to show that you are able to follow a very strict diet, and lose at least some weight on your own, before they operate. You have to undergo psychiatric evaluation to see if you can handle the change emotionally. It is a drastic procedure and not everyone is a candidate.
