6-12 weeks: If double vision is from a diabetic mono-neuropathy, meaning damage to one of the nerves innervating the eye muscles, then typically it takes anywhere from 2 to 3 months to regenerate. These are vascular insults and can come from diabetes or high blood pressure or other vascular diseases.
