See another doc: A 26 year old female with dry skin. If dry skin is just the problem, and you don't have any large areas of severe dry patches or excoriated or infected skin, there is no need to jump to steroid creams. Dry skin can be exacerbated by cold dry weather, also by certain products you are using on your skin. Only use ointments and creams like vaseline, aquaphor, vanicream, aveeno, (oatmeal) cetaphil 2x/day
