It depends on the: laxative I guess, but the answer lies in what you are doing with Azo to start with. Azo should not be taken for more than 2-3 days, as the acute infection improves. If you take Azo for more than that, like any other numbing agents, it does not work quite as well. No numbing or pain countering agents work 100% if you take it longer than you should, even if you still have pain.
