my 12 year old son who is very active but his weight is 142lbs.and eats vegetables and fruits but can't seem to lose weight. what would be a good diet?

If he's 5'4" or <, : his BMI is 95th%ile or >, in the obese range; if 5'5" - 5'8", in the overweight range. See his pediatrician, who will calculate his BMI, & do a physical exam, blood pressure & labs to determine if he has weight-related medical problems. If he does, your insurance will pay fir him to see a nutritionist as well as any needed subspecialists. If not, his MD will monitor his diet, lifestyle & weight.
