Nothing: Menses are a normal female condition and often associated with painful cramps, which are normal also. Unfortunately, this phenomenon has been used, over the centuries, to stigmatize and shame women. I believe that disrespect and inattention that women often receive when they complain of any pain is associated with these cultural stigmatizations.
