A 60-year-old female asked:
My mom has severe thumb arthritis and is in a lot of pain, what should she do to manage the pain, besides the splint & anti-inflammatory?

Thumb pain: There exist various types of simple but effective thumb and wrist braces which can help . Should also try glucosamine and some topical creams. Cortisone injections can help if one is careful to try only a few of them ( one a year)
