No: No, for hypothyroidism. No matter how many needles go into the hands or feet, the hormonal disturbances of the thyroid gland will not get fixed. Regarding infertility, the answer is also no... but some aspects of a couple's infertility may be affected by emotional, psychological factors of the two people, and how they interact with one another. Acupuncture sessions might influence those aspects.
Dr. Geoffrey Rutledge

Not effective: Acupuncture is not in any way effective for treating hypothyroidism. If you do not have enough thyroid hormone, then a supplemental thyroid hormone replacement is the only effective treatment. Acupuncture has been used to treat infertility, but the reports are not convincing - many women get pregnant during infertility evaluations even without any treatment. See a reproductive endocrinologist!
