Genetic testing: Although there are some genetic diseases that increase the risk of both breast and colon cancer your history and family history do not seem to indicate that spectrum. A hyperplastic polyp is completely benign and does not even change the screening protocols for colon cancer screening. I would wait for the pathology to discuss the results and determine your best screening methods.
