No: However if someone goes a long tim without ovulating, (i.E someone with pcos for example) than the lining becomes so thick that it outgrows its blodo supply resulting in abnormal bleeding. In general if someone has normal mesntrual cycles than they are probably ovulated about 14-15 days prior to the start of menses.
