Not as effective: Not as effective as having your teeth professionally cleaned by the Dentist/Hygienist, and then brushing 2x/day for 2 full minutes by the clock w a whitening toothpaste. Homeopathic remedies not as effective as specifically engineered products.

Calculus: Calculus is best removed by a scaler, then polished with dental prophy paste. Although baking soda is abrasive you may also wear away some of your enamel. Sounds like you need a good, professional cleaning.
