Twisted Sister: If your knee cap truly feels like it's floating then there's probably fluid in the knee joint and/or the lining that covers it. Twisting the knee can cause ligament damage but it has to be pretty severe (unless you're 80 years old and never drank a glass of milk in your life). That "grinding" doesn't seem too comforting either.Best you get to a doctor who can examine you and decide what to do next
