My father has swelling pain and redness on the side of his foot.could it be a blood clot? He has history of leg and feet swelling but never redness

Possibly: Blood clot is one of several possible explanations. Might also be cellulitis or vasculitis. Dependent edema from heart failure or venous insufficiency can also cause this. Probably a good idea to have his primary doctor evaluate in person.
