Get an exam done: Any pain going on for more than 2-3 weeks requires an examination by your doctor to find the cause. Depending on the location of the pain, it could be strept throat(an infection) or if it is further down in your throat it can be a problem in the esophagus. You should go see a family, doctor or internist better still will be an ENT doctor who can look inside your throat with a light.

I agree that the level of the Dysphagia would guide assessment, but a gastroenterologist would be better suited for evaluation especially in a patient who had been symptomatic for three weeks
