does having some kind of infection in your system make you retain fluids? yrs ago when i had pancreitis i retained, and now if im sick i retain too.

FLUID "Retention": is ACTUALLY SALT retention...and the fluid "follows" the salt.... Infection has little to do with it.... BTW Pancreatitis is NOT an infection and the fluid retention is a response to adrenal hormone released by stress/inflammation and SALT retention resulting from adrenal hormones. Hope this helps Dr Z
