Nipple tenderness: Nipple tenderness is not caused by Mirena (levonorgestrel). If only the nipple is sore on one breast and the breasts are not sore then it is likely a local traumatic event and not hormonal. Ill fitting bras, new exercise patterns, nipple trauma rubbing against close, weight changes are a few common caused.
