Group B Strep: I can't answer why your doctor would not have tested you previously. What I CAN tell you are the recommendations about GBS testing and pregnancy. Normally, ALL pregnant women are screened between 35 and 37 weeks, except for (1) women who previously had a baby with GBS or (2) women who have had a urinary tract infection caused by GBS during current pregnancy. Those women get treated regardless.
