Yes: Bacteria in the blood requires antibiotics, usually by IV infusion. WBC's in the urine with flank pain and a positive blood culture implies pyelonephritis (kidney infection) which should be treated in the hospital. Lack of treatment can result in permanent damage to the kidney.
