Biopsy may be needed: Your doctor needs to examine you. Usually a small breast cancer isn't painful or tender. It may just be an infection. But your doctor needs to examine you and determine whether a biopsy is necessary.

Need more info: To be able to better guide you, as in how long has this been there, any nipple discharge, or any trauma to the breast prior to this "lump". In the end, try to avoid making the worst case diagnosis until you've been examined in person.
