What is the difference between a spur and a cyst when related to abnormal bone knot/growth on thumb side of wrist? i have smooth knot on my wrist.

Spur/cyst: A spur is an overgrowth of bone and is often part of aging. A cyst is an area where there is no bone or a deficiency of bone . It is often something you are born with. Cysts can also form along the tendons in your wrist. I hope this helps. All the best.
