I have had a dry cough for 2 months it is very dry and making me heave very loudly no sputum or vomit comes just dry heaving. what could this be? i have had a chest x ray and bloods tested which was given the all clear. ive taken omprezole however did not

Probably Allergic: Dry cough for that long indicates allergy, for which a detailed history and exam would be needed. If family history iof asthma is suggestive, an spirometry test in your doctor's office can confirm the diagnosis. Post nasal drip from Allergic Rhinitis can also produce dry cough. Feel better!

Could be GERD: The acronym we use is GERD, Gastro Esophageal Reflux Disease. It is gastric acid from your stomach getting up and out into your esophagus. While omprezole is a good medication you might need another drug, It is also imperative that you should not lie down until two hours after eating and you should eat slowly, chew your food well and keep in frequent touch with your gastroenterologist.
