Tendon of the thumb: This is inflamation of the tendon which is called a tenosynovitis of the sheath or tunnel that surrounds two tendons that control movement of the thumb. It can cause pain and swelling along the thumb side of the wrist. It will hurt with resistance to movements of the tendons and can be treated with splinting, injection or even as a last resort surgery.
