Eat less & exercise: It is impossible to grow taller at age 24 but you can lose weight- the key is not a temporary diet but permanent changes. Sugars & simple carbs from grains esp. cause weight gain. I like Dr. Furhman's diet: http://www.drfuhrman.com/library/what-is-a-nutritarian-diet.aspx Dr. Weil has useful info: https://tinyurl.com/m8avwzh- see his "discuss that" link in his article. Exercise is also important.

Yes, but: They can help you rule out endocrine causes, which aren't that common. After that you need a good regimen of education, diet, exercise and support -- plus changes of elements in your lifestyle that have led to weight gain.

Probably: Sounds like he is doing exactly what is recommended to manage high blood pressure with lifestyle modification. Yes, it is possible the meds need to be reduced in dose as his weight goes down and exercise increases. Good work!

Does hoodia really work for weight loss?

Dr. Randy Baker
Holistic Medicine 40 years experience
No one knows 4 sure: There are no published research studies showing if hoodia works or not, though a couple of unpublished reports suggesting it might. Many hoodia supplements appear to have little if any hoodia, so if you try it find a reliable brand. I couldn't agree more. Above all, never drink soda. Sugar sweetened beverages (sodas, energy drinks, juices, etc) are your enemy when you're trying to achieve or maintain a healthy weight.
