Irregular Menses: It is common for young women to occasionally have their periods last longer/shorter, come early/late or miss them all together. If u had unprotected sex w/i past month, check pregnancy test. If irregular periods persist > 2 mos, see ur clinician. If ur sexually active, and don't desire pregnancy, consider hormonal contraception, which can regulate your cycles while preventing unintended pregnancy

Irregular period: Menstrual cycles can vary from month to month. If a woman is sexually active an irregularity could signify pregnancy so a pregnancy test is helpful. If this problem persists for 2 months then she should seek care from her primary physician or gynecologist.
