I don't have a sore throat but i feel pain in the upper back part of the mouth. it hurts if i try to swallow any mucus. what's going on?

Mouth Pain: This could allergy or a viral infection. Probably best to have your PCP take a look at it.

Tonsillitis.: Your symptoms are consistent with tonsillitis. In the usual progression of most upper respiratory tract infections that are invariably viral. if you have previously had strep throat infections a screening swab &culture should be done, . Rest, fluids, salt-water gargles &lozenges is worth to try.
