DMARDs: Disease modifying meds (dmards) are the meds of choice as their can prevent damage, deformity and disability. Rheumatologists usually start with Methotrexate and add other meds such as tnf agents if necessary. Early treatment is essential.

Impossible to answer: Every patient is different with differing degrees and intensity of disease and differing potentials for long term damage. Varied drugs are used includind anti inflammatory medications and low dose steroids. Disease modifying drugs like plaquenil, azulfidine (sulfasalazine) or Methotrexate are quite helpful the most recent additions, the biologics, like Enbrel or Humira are the most potent and trul;y inhibit diseu.

There is no one best: Treatments vary from patient to patient. Most of my patients do not need biologics and can be successfully treated with older drugs, but combinations are needed. Sometimes we give rescue doses of certain tnf-alpha inhibitors to provide comfort until other drugs "kick in." but humira, enbrel, cimzia, rituxan, orencia, (abatacept) xeljanz are always costly alternatives! mtx should be tried first!

Can you tell me what is the best remedy for rheumatoid arthritis ?

Many: The most important part of RA is to be on disease modifying therapy. Every patient is different. Drugs like methotrexate, enbrel, (etanercept) humira, etc help protect the joints. Steroids (prednisone) and anti-inflammatories help symptoms but don't protect your joints.
