my six year old daughter who is well potty trained now pees in her clothes everyday except in bed. she has been checked out 3x's but no medical issues. her school nurse is concerned about her health saying that her urine is now smelling like sweet syrup.

Likely behavioral.: A standard urine exam would include tests for infection as well as for glucose, which would be a sign of diabetes. If your child has been checked X 3 and is also able to stay dry at night, it is unlikely to be related to a physical problem. Are there emotional stressors? You may want to try timed voidings, setting the timer for her to go the BR in 1 hour and rewarding her staying dry, etc

Seet smelling urine: First rule out maple syrup urine disease and diabetes mellitus. There are even more rare congenital diseases also.
