It is an infection: caused by a virus. Chronic form is associated with chronic fatigue syndrome. There is no effective drug that will eliminate the virus. Rather, you need to rely upon your own immune system to eradicate the virus. Rest and proper nutrition are your best bets. Ask your infectious disease specialist for more specific advice.
