No: No but cigarette smoking (addiction) and alcoholism are two of the top three preventable causes of death. They are among the top contributors to "all cause" mortality because they can adversely affect your health in so many ways. There may be some beneficial health effects of drinking small amounts of alcohol regularly, particularly red wine.
