What to do if i used metformin to get pregnant. Do i go back on metformin for the rest of my life?

No usually: The major reason metformin is used is to control your blood sugars in diabetes. If you are not diabetic you will not need the metformin. It has been shown that metformin does help and maintain pregnancy but, again you will only use this medication if you want to become pregnant again.
