Talk to dad's doctor: Unfortunately it sounds like your dad has had progression of his disease to a more advanced stage. Typically patients become non-ambulatory, have difficulty swallowing or clearing their airway. They often develop pneumonia. Of course your dad's doctor will have a better understanding based on your dad's case. You could use support during this time. You might consider a support group.
