Perceptions; reality: do not necessarily match. At the same time realize that the fasting glucose values reported are high, they should be in the 70-90 range & fasting values, vs. after eating values, are the least likely to reveal Diabetes Mellitus. A far more practical way to detect & track Diabetes Mellitus is via HbA1c; optimal healthy 5.0% or less (for lowest CVDs events), yet not called DM until 6.5% & above.
